Tennessee May is an alt pop artist, producer, and songwriter based in Harlem.
She delights in fantasy as both a means of escape and self discovery, and loves to explore what fantasy can mean in a musical context. Can the creation of a song be a sort of world building? Tennessee’s music makes the case that it can and should be.
In 2025, Tennessee May released “Happy,” a synth driven and heartbroken ballad. She then welcomed 2026 with an acoustic cover of the band Beirut’s song “Nantes.” Next came “Is It Real or a Dream?,” a through-composed meditation on the soul and the self.
“Nemoralia” was released on August 14. It is a call to action against the death cult of patriarchy.
